General Questions
1. What is Ballonat Sand Wax? Ballonat Sand Wax is a premium, granulated wax that looks like fine sand or pearls. Unlike traditional candles, it doesn’t require melting or molding. You simply pour the granules into a heat-safe container, insert a wick, and light it. It is eco-friendly, clean-burning, and infinitely customizable.
2. How is it different from a regular candle? Traditional candles are solid blocks that melt into a large pool of hot wax. Ballonat Sand Wax is free-flowing; only the small area around the wick melts. This makes it cleaner, safer, and reusable, as you can simply "refresh" the candle by removing the small wax melt and adding a new wick.
3. Is it safe to use around children and pets? Absolutely! This is one of our most popular features. If a container is accidentally knocked over, the sand wax instantly covers the wick and extinguishes the flame, preventing fire spread. Furthermore, Ballonat Sand Wax is unscented, making it the superior choice for pets & animals, pets & animals and allergy sufferers.
Usage & Performance
4. How long does the sand wax burn? Our wax is designed for long-lasting performance. With proper setup—using a deep container and a centered wick—you can safely enjoy a continuous burn of over 12 hours. On average, 1kg of sand wax can provide up to 120 hours of total ambiance.
5. Can I use any container? You can use almost any heat-safe vessel, such as glass, ceramic, or metal. We recommend using containers that are taller and wider than the wax itself. This keeps the flame deep inside, protected from drafts and away from flammable objects like curtains, making it much safer than traditional candles.
6. How do I "refresh" my candle? Once you blow out the flame and the wax cools, a small solid "button" will form around the wick. Simply lift this button out and discard it. The remaining sand is still brand new! Just shake the container to level it, insert a fresh wick, and it’s ready to go again.

7. Is the wax scented? Ballonat offers both scented and unscented sand wax to suit any setting. Our unscented wax is the premier choice for restaurants, hotels, and pet owners, providing a clean, elegant flame that won't interfere with fine dining or irritate sensitive animals. For a more fragrant atmosphere, our scented wax features premium, pre-infused aromas, or you can simply add your own essential oils to our unscented base for total creative control.
8. Is it suitable for outdoor events like Desert Safaris or Beach Parties? Absolutely. Because you can use tall containers, the flame is naturally shielded from the wind. If an outdoor gust tips the container, our "instant-off" property ensures the fire goes out the moment the sand hits the wick.
